Our movement, JAMAICA PATRIOTIC MOVEMENT, condemns the brutal murder of president JOVENEL MOISE and calls upon the world body to protect the state authority and provide much-needed assistance to enable the Haitian people to prepare for the election for the preservation of their feeble democracy. Since the Haitian revolution and the invasion of the United States in 1915 to prevent Germany from taking control, our sister nation has not known peace. They attempted to hold the first democratic election with the installation of JEAN-BERTRAND ARISTIDE only to have their hopes dashed with the removal of their president by US-backed forces; he lived in exile for 7 years. The election of JOVENEL MOISE  saw the economic and political situation worsened when the attempted coup in Venezuela aborted the aid received in oil from Venezuela. It deepened the crisis when the president initiated a rise in fuel cost, plunging the country into chaos. The alignment of JOVENEL policies with the racist Donald Trump and those of the Jamaican prime minister resulted in a deepening political crisis in HAITI. Trump played both with no assistance from him, the strategy of white supremacists in impoverishing the poor, Trump did call them shit-hole countries.
