The honorable Andrew Holness has declared a state of emergency in Mo-bay in response to the

continuing spiraling murder rate. Since the granting of political independence from colonial Britain,

our political leaders from both tribal parties have followed a liberal economic policy endorse and enforce

by the IMF although our debt is 80% own by our native rich, the private sector. The social crisis facing our

country has been over the years gotten worse with the selling off to private interest most of our important assets

with the false promise of prosperity for all!! What happens is that both parties have indebted us to the

tune of over 1.2---to 1.4 trillion dollars, over 120% of our Gross National Product. The crisis is manifested with

educated beggars, gruesome murders, homelessness, hopelessness, suicides, migration, and self-hate!! The antipode

of that reality is the draconian profit making by foreign and local interest with no reinvestment in our Agriculture,

Education, Health Care, Manufacturing, Housing and Community Empowerment. The prime minister on taking office

provided one billion dollars to the tourism interest while Mobay was bleeding!! Our people welcome any relief from the

senseless killing of innocent people most of whom are under 25 years old, a generation that the system has failed!!

Mr Richard Pandobie, CEO of Seprod opined in the Gleaner "That not enough attention is given at the highest level to Agriculture

and the related processing industry noting that value-added agriculture with a multiplier effect for farmers can be an effective

driver of economic growth" The growth council that Mr. Holness set up is to allow the continued plunder of state assets by corporate

entity under the toxic theme of PROSPERITY. We need a revolutionary change of ideology and economics to stem the decay!!
