RIP TOOTS, A MUSICAL REGGAE ICON, FOUNDATION OF OUR INDIGENOUS CULTURE

Toots represented the main sinew of our musical fiber taken from the rhythmical movement of our daily life.  It is a shame that it is in death that our people are bombarded with the many songs attributed to our musical icon. It is the lack of promotion and acceptance by the powers that be of our homegrown culture why our youths are steeped in western decadence. The adage that fish rot from its head down could be seen on dis[lay when the leader of our country highlighted the wearing of Clarkes and corruption as part of the menu of winning a national election reflect the deep decline in our aesthetic. All things in life are interconnected and thus the blotting out of our black gold by the privately own media reduces the full materialization of democracy. Our youths are more informed of guns and murders than the songs of Hibbert and the other late greats. It is the typical anti-black mindset of the elites why it appears as if Bob Marley is the only reggae artiste of note, we must fight against this trend!!!
