We welcome the strengthening of the relationship with the United States but it must be elevated to one of respect for each other position on international issues. Our people in its history have never sought to sever the relationship with the United States. As genuine friends, we must be free to decide and act on issues without being threatened and bullied if we disagree, this is the hallmark of true friendship. Our people due to its history of being colonized are duty-bound to defend those who fight for freedom and democracy!!! We are wary of your intention as we see your words contradict your actions, the building of borders, the expulsion of migrants, the fear-driven by the acts of Gestapo agents within ICE, you're taxing the poor and workers to benefit billionaires, the incarceration and killing of black Americans, the privatization of prisons, the tepid response to the opioid crisis ripping your country, the neglect of Puerto Rico and the drive to divide nations so you can move in to steal their oil and gold, we are totally against that. The principle thing to do was to send the correspondence to the chair of CARICOM requesting to meet with the organization in Kingston and if you wanted to discuss bilateral issues with our country then Mr.Holness would facilitate that, we are not fools, we are poor in wealth but rich in principles and integrity, our history will attest to that.
