Our former Prime Minister awakened to add his liberal stamp to the hype debate of becoming a republic. As prime minister with a majority of 52 seats out of 60, Mr. Patterson should have accomplished this goal. A skilled politician within a tribalistic culture lacked the revolutionary courage as our Hero Marcus Garvey.
Unbeknown to most Jamaicans, Mr.Patterson graduated from the London School of economics, a training ground for liberal pro-British aspirants. He represented the conservative faction within the PNP, the anti-thesis of the Michael Manley democratic socialist wing. Mr.Patterson was famous for talking a good game abroad but carrying out the most significant transfer of wealth from the poor to the wealthy elites at home. He continued with the IMF poison without the IMF. Mr. Patterson failed the majority of black Jamaicans. Like the rest of retired prime ministers, they are assigned a post at the University of the West Indies to continue exposing their moribund policies.
