Jamaica is part of the cycle of underdevelopment similar to Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador, an economic system that breeds criminality, prostitution, violence, and poverty. The IMF predicted a disastrous effect on developing countries due to the pandemic. It is also reported that Corporate entity during the covid-19 profits has quadruple while  200 million people became impoverished.

The mismanagement and false promises by Andrew Holness during the covid19 experience has made the economy reeled with the laying off of over 150,000 workers with no direct assistance from his government while corporate Jamaica profited handsomely. The IMF/Private sector anti-poor economic policy has caused crushing mental instability among our people pushing the murder rate to its highest rate. What does the government do? Nothing, more of the same. The shifting of blame and intimidation of critics is the hallmark of this administration. At the same time, the PNP is engulfed in internal personality squabble after the installation of the mirror image of Andrew Holness, Mark Golding. With two liberal parties dominating, the poor and working-class are without any anchor and have to suffer the brunt of this economic fallout.
