Our people are once again celebrating the return of true and trusted friends, the Cubans.  It was during the Michael Manley tenure we saw a reaching out to our neighbors and to Africa, bringing us all together to advance the development of the poor and working-class of our country, Socialism is now a common theme in American politics, what a visionary Michael Manley was!! It is similar to our late icon, Peter Tosh, who sounded the clarion call for legalization of our medicinal plant, marijuana, but like all other aspects of our life, laws, and preferences is best laid at the altar of imperial directives, the USA. 

The coronavirus has exposed our weak developmental model which must be tackled head-on irrespective of who is in power. Our political economy was and is dictated by a few powerful entities that control over 95% of our resources with the blessing of the most conservative section of the US congress. It is a known fact that the US intends to keep us within its orbit with the full support of the Tribal Political arrangement and the PSOJ. It is this arrangement why we are unable to develop as we can our country. Our health care system is in shamble, our food security is questionable and our export sector is barely surviving, the patching of figures and long diatribe by Nigel Clarke is camouflaging the danger that lies ahead for our country. Cuba is sovereign and independent!!! Listen to its own music and develop their full potential by investing in their people under the most brutal embargo ever in the history of mankind, why are we not develop with only three million people and no embargo? It is because we are not programmed to, we must be a resort for the rich and powerful with our majority black population as independent contractors and outright wage slaves to serve them!!!
