Our country is experiencing a rise in prevalent social ills aggravated by the pandemic and with the Government having no concrete plan to arrest the problems. Our political class and their backers keep looking for solutions from the same class that helps in creating our endemic concerns of poverty and crime. Our issues are social and thus demand a social approach inclusive of the victims of this outdated economic arrangement. Many of our nationalist public figures since independence had called for a new vision but ignored and sometimes punished for going against this dormant construct only to be replaced by the ideas of the 5% that own our country.
