Jamaicans Reject Imf/Private Sector Program

On Thursday December 29th, 2011 the Jamaican electorate voted overwhelmingly against the Golding/Holness/ IMF/ private sector economic policies.  The Jamaica Labor Party came into office after promising the Jamaican people that their life will be better off with Mr. Golding Leadership, they believed him and gave him the authority to fulfill his promises.Mr.Golding failed politically, economically and morally and thus had to resign in disgrace. To add insult to injury and having no regard for the intelligence of our people who suffered a traumatic decline in their standard of living, appointed a young, inexperience and out of touch education minister to carry on the draconian imf economic policies.

This overwhelming victory of the Portia led administration should be analze carefully. This victory should be a wake up call to both political parties that our people will not wait four, three or two term to vent their frustration. The Golding administration has ushered in the beginning of one term government! Mrs. Portia Simpson was given a complete mandate to deliver our people from abject poverty and to reassert our sovereignty by renegotiating the IMF agreement to the benefit of our country. Emphasis should be place on the state acting on the behalf of the electors by creating employment through export oriented companies, manufacturing, housing development and agriculture.

It must be noted that if the People National Party Failed to regain our Nationhood and improved the standard of living of our people they will join the failed leaders of the past in permanent retirement.
