Jamaica, s 52nd Independence Celebration…….a reflection….
What a beautiful experience when the struggles of all our heroes known and unknown came into fruition when Our Flag replace the Colonial one. This whole episode has at that time of transferring of power the honorable Norman Manley playing his historical role in assisting in this historic event, this we celebrate with happiness. What transpired after that is what need deep reflection on this our 52nd year of managing our affairs. We are still operating from a colonial constitution with minor amendments that serve only to benefit the rich. The poor has grown larger and more desperate, the economic migration still continue unabated, our youth are discarded on the barren prairie of unemployment, our girls are subjected to the most barbaric environment of massage parlor and prostitution ring to eke out a living, the programmatic indoctrination of our young boys into homosexuality to satisfy the odious and perverted clientele in the hills and hotel surroundings, the deterioration of our workers living condition, the selling off of most of our prized assets, the bonding of our economic interest to the western model that will only see us playing a subservient role and continuously indebted to them and the resultant social decay that follows.
This is the state of affair presently in our country; it would be interesting to know how many people got shot, raped, fired and became homeless today, August 6th, 2014. Our Politicians, servants of the Private Sector and the IMF have stage a gala celebration because they are the ones who are independent and benefited from this miscarriage of Justice.
