I AM STRESSED,MY HEAD HURTS,REMARKED HEAD NURSE.

A visit to the Kingston public hospital to check on a relative reveals a situation that is opposite to our leader's pronouncement. It was shocking in that it was my place of birth and nothing change; it hurts to see the people that are the backbone in labor for this country in time of health needs are treated like this, not enough beds, rusted rails, no quality curtains with proper hangers, minimal patient privacy and a stressed-out staff. Both gleaner and observer must be the voice of our people and not private interest. The focus must be on the well being of our people, not the wealth of the stock market. There is no prosperity for the average Jamaicans; their basic needs are ignored. The minister of health must disguise himself and check himself in our health center and experience what our people go through then make changes; this is what real leaders do who care. On speaking to our stressed health care workers, they emphasize the lack of quality equipment, staff shortage, low pay, and disrespect by patients when care is not immediate. Both political parties must be mindful that our people are reaching the point of needing real changes, enough of the game; they need actions and solutions.
