Honoring Mr. Edward Seaga

The Right Honorable Edward Phillip George Seaga, born 25th May 1930 of Jamaicans and Lebanese parentage was the fifth Prime Minister of Jamaica from 1980 to 1989. He was educated at Harvard University with a Bachelors of arts degree in the social sciences. Mr Seaga went on to achieve the distinction of being the longest serving member of Parliament, one of the founding fathers of the constitution,cover nor of one of the garrisons,Tivoli Garden and founding member of most of our finance institution in Jamaica.

Look at who is bestowing this honor to a moribund figure in our nation history,the powers that be both in academia ,tribal arena and the private sector. Why at this time when the policies of Mr Seaga have left a crater size impression on our social,economic and political life.During our celebrating of our national heroes this is the best our political Leaders can do.Why not mention his treacherous role in siding with the conservative/racist element within the United States Republican Party?Why was Mr Seaga against a social/economic policy that merely call for self reliance and a independent foreign policy? Was it because he was designated the point man for the United States and private interest in Jamaica. Was his antagonistic behavior against Cuba valid given the current reality? History has surely absolve Fidel Castro and admonish Mr. Seaga.

Mr Seaga,a total failure in his vision and policies is now espousing pegging the Jamaican dollar to his master's currency knowing that it will only subvert our sovereignty to the wishes of the United States. The solution to our economic crisis is the abandonment of the International Monetary Fund, a renegotiation of the debt with the private sector(bond holders)and the the involvement of the state in the development of our country. Your honor is already bestowed upon you by the private sector and your fellow tribalist when you were given the post as Chancellor Of the University Of technology to continue your scholastic journey into the museum of antiquity. The reality of Jamaica,one of the highest debt in the world,sixty percent of our people living on squatters land,our young youths without jobs,rampant crime,high cost of living,teenage prostitution,alienation and widespread corruption demand leaders that put our country first and foremost and to empower our people.
