On behalf of the workers, teachers, students, unemployed, victims of violence, the youths, pensioners, the homeless, the mentally challenge, workers in police uniforms, the nurses, the doctors, unemployed Journalists, the handicap, the hotel workers, the airport workers, the garbage cleaners, the beggars and our professionals workers the call to abandon this austerity program. Madam President our people gave you a mandate to undo the twenty years of economic hardship inflicted upon them by your mentor, Mr. Patterson. This IMF/Private sector toxic economic formula is a no-growth poverty enhancement medicine. It is time to exert leadership to benefit the ninety percent of our people. The visit to our Country by the president of the United States gives you an opportunity to ask for the forgiveness of the IMF debt and the United States taking over of the Petro-Caribe agreement at a lower interest rate so as to help Jamaica. Our people cannot withstand any more tax increases.
