Our nation-state was born out of the struggle of our people against British colonialism. A fight waged by Nanny, the world’s only female guerrilla fighter that defeated the British empire; the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Paul Bogle,Sam Sharpe,George William Gordon and continued with the brilliant lawyer and statesman, the Honorable Norman Manley, who is also responsible for the independence of our nation, Jamaica, and its people.
Our movement, the Jamaica Patriotic Movement was established to continue the fight that has been aborted by neo-colonial elements within our government and the private sector that have our people highly indebted and recording daily murder rates, continuous migrations, suicides, educated beggars, decaying public facilities, rampant corruption, and lackluster manufacturing. These activities happening under the economic program stipulated by the IMF and mandated by the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica and our two political parties.
Our people continue to excel in sports, athletics, music and the arts. Our people have the capability of being the pearl of the Caribbean and the world with the most modern and equipped hospitals, educational training center, highly skilled workforce, world-class governance, and united society.
We will campaign for the elimination of poverty with massive investment in agriculture, housing construction, and manufacturing for export, integration of our agriculture entity with the tourism sector, the reduction of importation of food products and by-products, and the collection of all foreign receipts into our country.
Our people can accomplish this task as easy as Usain Bolt capturing the imagination of the world. Only a united nation without the venom of tribalism can fulfill the dreams and aspirations of our people, this will be our quest, love of country. Our country will not continue to survive by being divided. We can stand united in this patriotic movement to ensure prosperity for all through the TRANSFORMATION OF OUR NATION!
