The coronavirus has exposed globally the weakness and faultline of western capitalist systems that had worshiped the privatization of everything including one of the basics of human welfare, healthcare.  Many wars were conducted to export this economic system under the pretext of democracy to enslave the world by a few greedy billionaires. Jamaica health care system was stripped to the bones with the introduction of open private competition and cheap labor resulted in our people suffering the worst health care ever. Most of our primary health care nurses and doctors are at the forefront of the battle against the deadly virus in New York and other major cities while our residents suffer their absence!!! The shut down of major food transportation links have exposed us to another danger, lack of food security!!! This is a serious issue and must be tackled head-on. Our indigenous patriots over the years have been clamoring for food production to feed our people and for export to our large migrant population abroad but our neo-colonial minded leaders pay little attention, always waiting on their imperial master's orders, never to make a decision on our national concern, those who do are faced with sanctions, visa revocation, and contempt!!!
