During the British rule of Ghana, the locals were told that industrialization was not a fit for Ghana because they wanted only to have their country as a source of raw materials and cheap labor. The development of Ghana, the world's top cocoa producer was never allowed to set up its own factories or to build major trading ports so as to reap a sizable profit to benefit its people. All administrative and policy decision was directed from Britain thus denying the local Ghanian from gaining expertise in management.

It is the same strategy employed in our country since independence, a colonial administration set up to benefit the interest of foreign interest!! The tribal system set up with both the PNP and JLP going at each other throat was to benefit only the ruling elites and their foreign backers. The coronavirus exposes the skeleton structure of our state institution, it was never designed to satisfy the health of our people, Mr.Holness's response to the crisis reveals his lack of control of said institution, it is all privatized!!! The IMF strictures state clearly what the role of the state should be, to control our people with a strong security apparatus and to collect taxes. Going forward our government will have to tackle this crisis head-on by building out modern health facilities to satisfy our people, this cannot wait any longer. The other weaknesses are the lack of technology within our production processes, it is designed to retard our development. The import/export statistic prove this, we are importing four times more than we export!!! this is an evil plan to keep our country subservient to foreign interests. Holness is not aware that what he is doing is playing the same role as our neo-colonial puppet did and will meet the same fate as they did!!! The coronavirus has opened our people's eyes to the real state of affairs and the need to correct it.
