On behalf of our movement, Jamaica Patriotic Movement, we extend congratulation on its 40yrs anniversary. Our country have come a far distance in trying to establish electoral machinery independent of our corrupted political machinery. It is very important that the EOJ speed up its regulatory roles to correspond to the international template, it is still used as a political football by both parties. In our manifesto posted on this website we called for:

a) The EOJ to be given statuary powers.

b) It must have the authority to set a permanent date for our national elections.

c) It must be given the budget to conduct the election

d) It must have its own security apparatus

If these acts are not materialized our country will be facing the same chaos, tribal and corruptive practice by both parties. We are mature and have the skill set to be an example to the world in our governance, our leaders are retarding our progress trying to satisfying foreign and local powerful interests, dividing our people must end, national interests must be prioritized.
