On behalf of the people of Jamaica we want to extend to the people of Venezuela our heartfelt condolences to the passing of a true nationalist and anti-imperialist. We thank you Chavez for showing us your kindness and sympathy for the least among us in provide us relief through the petro-caribe program with discounted fuel cost and monetary assistance for development projects. We also thank you for the sport stadium that you gave to the city of Montego-Bay to accommodate our athletic aspiration.
It is also fitting to note that you have showed that real democracy means utilizing the resources for the benefit of the majority of people and that Latin America can be a zone of peace, not an arena for war and plunder. Your legacy will live on.
