America's war of independence ushered in an era of hope for the slaves who were between two slaveholding rocks, one a declining colonial power and the other an emerging imperial power. Practicality saw some slaves siding with the colonial power with the hope of freeing themselves from American slavery. The victory of America over British colonialism and the written document that accompany that victory gave them hope of the ruling elites fulfilling the credo "That all men are equal with certain inalienable rights" only to see that the value under the black skin is more valuable than liberty and freedom. The mass killing of unarmed blacks of which George Floyd murder stands out while the world watched as he was murdered by an agent of Donald Trump stormtrooper reminded black Americans that institutional racism is well intact after 245 years of independence. America has yet to fulfill that mandate originated from the 1776 proclamation, it has now in congress a republican party that is over 80% sympathizer of nazism and is themselves, white supremacists, a sordid reality!! Blacks and minorities in America are yet to feel the effect of what true freedom is all about, the struggle must continue to fulfill Martin Luther King's dream!!!
